Downloads available for media: These images of montane red fox were taken in the Mt. Hood Wilderness Area by Cascadia Wild and the Cascade Carnivore Project using remote cameras during spring 2012. They are the first confirmed detections of montane red fox in northern Oregon in decades, and are likely a newly discovered population of Sierra Nevada red fox — a critically imperiled subspecies native to the Sierra Nevada and Cascade mountains south of the Columbia River.  Images courtesy of Cascadia Wild.
