Offshore Oil Cleanup Tracker

This dashboard tracks oil companies that haven’t cleaned up their oil and gas infrastructure after drilling in federal waters. Our analysis of federal data shows which companies operate wells and offshore platforms that are overdue for decommissioning. The data show that thousands of wells and hundreds of platforms are overdue. Delayed plugging of wells and aging infrastructure risks oil spills, methane leaks, and other hazards. Action is needed to hold the offshore oil industry accountable and safeguard oceans and marine life.
