Press Conference Thursday at COP28 Highlights Need to Phase Out Fossil Fuels
DUBAI— Climate advocates will hold a press conference Thursday focusing on the urgent need for a fossil fuel phaseout as the COP28 summit gets underway in Dubai.
This year’s summit takes place during what’s almost certainly the hottest year on record, amid unprecedented public momentum to end the fossil fuel era. Oil, gas and coal are center stage at this summit, amid controversy over its being hosted for the first time by the head of a fossil fuel company.
