NM. The Sacramento Mountains checkerspot is found only
in high mountain meadows in the vicinity of Cloudcroft in the
Sacramento Mountains, Otero county, New Mexico. It is closely
associated with its larval foodplant, the New Mexico penstemon.
Threats
Habitat loss, land trades, livestock grazing, and pesticide
spraying.
