CRITICAL HABITAT: Proposed in 1977 but never designated

RECOVERY PLAN: Published in 1984; needs to be updated

THREATS: Habitat loss and degradation due to development, livestock grazing, wildfire suppression, invasion of exotic plants, mining, off-road vehicles and bikes, foot traffic, and the maintenance and use of roads and trails; livestock trampling; dust pollution

POPULATION TREND: The Smith’s blue butterfly’s population trend is unknown.
