Action timeline

May 5, 2006 – The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service denied the Center’s petition to list the Andrew’s dune  scarab beetle under the Endangered Species Act.

December 1, 2005 – The Center returned to court in response to the Bush administration’s failure to respond to the group’s 2002 petition.

December 12, 2002 – The Center petitioned the Fish and Wildlife Service for protection of the Andrew’s dune scarab beetle under the Endangered Species Act.

November 14, 2000 – The Bureau of Land Management agreed to temporarily ban off-road vehicles from 48,000 acres of southeast California’s Algodones Dunes.
