YEAR LISTED: 2010

RANGE: The Vitor and Azapa valleys in the extreme northern portion of Chile

THREATS: Habitat loss, primarily due to the planting of olive and citrus groves; poisoning by Dimethoate; and possible competition from the Peruvian sheartail

POPULATION TREND: This bird’s population is declining.
