Dear Friends of the Verde River,
Please join us Thursday evening, September 14, at
the Grove in Prescott (119 Grove Avenue) for a fun evening of
letter-writing to Save the Verde! Pens hit paper at 5:30 and can
continue scribbling until 7:30. Pizza, munchies and beverages will
be provided. And we will have example letters, writing materials,
addresses and stamps available. Contact Ashley Fine at 928-533-4309
or creasotebsh@yahoo.com for
more information.
Little Drop of Water The Center has not kicked off the Little Drop of Water
project yet “officially,” so you can be one of the first to join us!
“Little Drops” will be at the letter-writing party on which you can
write your notes for the Verde, promise to conserve water or request
protection of the river’s flows. Check the http://savetheverde.org/ website
later this week for more information about the project. If you can’t
wait and need your Little Drop to color and write on today, you can
email Michelle Harrington at mharrington@biologicaldiversity.org
to receive the form as a pdf document.
New on SaveTheVerde.org Check out the new map of the Verde Watershed we’ve added to
the website. The map includes the proposed pipeline route for the
Big Chino Water Ranch Pipeline Project.
Calendar Please check
out our updated calendar
of events! Note the numerous volunteer opportunities to help the
campaign with outreach! Also, see the North Central Arizona
Watershed Consortium meeting added on September 16.
If you have an item for the calendar, please contact
Andrew Somerville at 928-445-0755 or andrewsome@hotmail.com.
Special thanks to the Citizens Water Advocacy Group
(http://www.cwagaz.org/) for
compiling many of the calendar entries.

Sierra Club has a “hands-on” opportunity to help the Verde River!
You can help with water quality testing in the upper segment of the
Verde River by participating in the Water Sentinels program. Contact
